New Zealand Post Group is delighted that our commitment to corporate responsibility has been recognised in a number of recent awards. Some of the awards are:
Corporate Responsibility Index Award for Best Progress in Silver category
The New Zealand Post Group received the Best Progress Silver Award for its score in the Corporate Responsibility Index (CRI). This celebrates the very large improvement in its results for 2009. The Group scored 87%, placing it amongst companies who score at the Silver level overall (scores between 80-89%).
This is New Zealand Post Group’s third year of participation in the CRI, which enables companies to assess and benchmark responsible business practice through ratings across a range measures.
National Sustainable Business Network Awards 2009 winner
Kiwibank was the National 2009 winner of the NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards in the Emerging Large and Corporate Business category. Kiwibank were recognised for establishing clear strategic thinking in its sustainability focus and striving to uphold an ethical banking system for New Zealanders.
Packaging Design Award for sustainable product lifecycle
CourierPost won the ‘highly commended’ award in the Packaging Design category for its sustainable product lifecycle initiatives at the 2009 Environmental Packaging Awards, held by the Packaging Council of New Zealand. The range of initiatives recognised included the eco-range, micron reduction (packaging thickness) and its recycling service for used packaging. The judges were particularly impressed with the Backtrack Your Trackpak service which makes it easy for customers to recycle used trackpaks.
World Mail Awards 2009 winner
New Zealand Post Group won the Corporate Responsibility category of the World Mail Awards. Judges said the award recognised New Zealand Post Group's commitment to corporate responsibility and the progress the company has made to advance work in this area.
Govt3 Awards 2009
- Best Green Team: for the Green Team at Datamail New Zealand Ltd who led the "Go Green" programme to measure, and then reduce, waste going to landfill.
- Best overall performance of a Govt3 (large) organisation 2003-2009: recognition on New Zealand Post's involvement and sharing information and learnings with others.
2008 Deloitte Management Top 200 Awards – Ethical Governance Award winner
New Zealand Post received the award for its commitment to measuring and managing its corporate responsibility.
National Sustainable Business Network Awards 2008 winner
Express Couriers Ltd was the National 2008 winner of the NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards in the emerging large business category. The company was recognised for its commitment to embedding sustainable best practice and launching industry firsts such as environmental packaging and recycling programs in which proceeds are donated to charities.
Equal Employment Opportunities Trust Awards 2008
- Work & Life/Diversity in Action Award Winner: New Zealand Post Group was recognised for its Women in Leadership programme designed to encourage more women into senior management.
- Walk the Talk Award: Mike Foster in Express Couriers won a "Walk the Talk" award for the work he has put into supporting diversity in the workplace.
