Targets and Measures
The New Zealand Post Group is committed to action on corporate responsibility and holds itself accountable for constantly achieving improvements in how we operate. A key way to ensure continuing progress is to set concrete targets and measures and report on progress against these targets.
Corporate responsibility implementation across the
New Zealand Post Group
At a company level we are reporting our overall corporate responsibility using the St James Ethics Centre Corporate Responsibility Index (CRI) methodology. We've committed to this until 2012. The CRI is a standardised reporting tool that has been developed in the UK and allows us to benchmark ourselves against other large organisations globally. The CRI evaluates us on four main areas:
- The corporate responsibility strategy of the business
- How the strategy is implemented across the business
- The management of corporate responsibility within the business
- The performance of a range of social and environmental impact areas.
The CRI is the only voluntary non-prescriptive framework for corporate responsibility in Australia and New Zealand, enabling companies to identify their non-financial risk, as well as to develop and improve corporate responsibility in line with their business strategy.
- Corporate Responsibility Index score: Our target is to increase New Zealand Post Group's rating from 58% in 2008, to 70% for 2009, to 80% in 2010 and to 85% in 2011. The Group's score in 2008 was 68.12%*.
