New Zealand Post confirmed today it has finalised arrangements to relocate its Rotorua PostShop. The new store, at 1218 Tutanekai Street, will feature a new interior design with upgraded services for customers.
Regional Sales and Service Manager, Phil Barnett, said the PostShop Kiwibank and the Post Office Box lobby will move from Hinemoa Street to the corner of Tutanekai and Pukuatua Streets.
Plans for a complete refit of the Tutanekai Street premises are being drawn up and, subject to planning consents, construction is expected to begin during December, with the new store opening in February.
Mr Barnett said the store will be the first in the Bay of Plenty to feature the new PostShop interior design, which is being progressively rolled out to New Zealand Post’s network of more than 300 PostShops nationwide.
"It's designed with customers in mind to ensure an easier, more efficient and pleasant shopping experience," he said. "It will be roomier, lighter and feature New Zealand-designed furniture and updated red and green tones based on the Pohutukawa tree. It also places an emphasis on sustainability, targeting energy savings and waste minimisation."
New Zealand Post had sought an alternative location for its Rotorua PostShop after worsening water ingress from a neighbouring property affected conditions for staff and customers at the Hinemoa Street premises.
