New Appointments At Transend Worldwide

20 August 2002

Transend Worldwide Ltd, New Zealand Post's international subsidiary, has announced a number of senior appointments as part of its company restructure.

John Allen, CEO of New Zealand Post's Letters and Enterprises division, who remains in a long-term position as Acting Managing Director, said Transend had been re-organised to focus on its core business of postal services.

"Transend continues to be a key part of New Zealand Post's growth strategy as an exporter of consultancy services and equipment," Mr Allen said.

"The size and nature of Transend's business has changed as a result of the agreement to end the SAPO contract one year ahead of schedule. Since leadership changes were announced in March, we have adjusted our cost levels and have now completed the process of recruiting a number of senior management positions.

"The potential of the international consulting market remains significant. Transend continues to win work globally with its competitive advantage based on New Zealand Post's experience of continued success in a deregulated market place.

"The focus for Transend is now on achieving our business plan, which looks to build on our position in the marketplace and deliver consulting excellence to our clients."
