Meet the New Zealand Post Group Leadership Team.

Brian Roche, BCA, CA

Chief Executive, New Zealand Post Group

Brian has held a wide variety of leadership roles in New Zealand with a particular focus on transport, treaty settlements, education and housing. He was project manager for the successful bid to secure the hosting rights to Rugby World Cup 2011.

Brian has a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (Victoria University) and is a Member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA).


Paul Brock, BBS

Chief Executive Officer, Kiwibank Limited.

Paul Brock has an extensive background in New Zealand's banking industry, including managerial roles with Westpac and Trust Bank.

He was part of the team that created Kiwibank in 2002 and has held a number of key positions within the bank, including General Manager Marketing and General Manager Savings and Transactions.


Jacqui Cleland, M Phil (Psychology), BBS

Group Manager, Human Resources

Jacqui joined the New Zealand Post Group in 2007.
She was previously Group Manager Human Resources at Inland Revenue.  Prior to that Ms Cleland was HR Manager in Fonterra's Marketing and Innovation Division, following a number of years as a lecturer in human resource management at Massey University. In addition to teaching and researching in the HR field, she has done consulting both in New Zealand and overseas.


Mark Gibson

Chief Executive Officer, Express Couriers Limited (ECL)

Mark Gibson, joined the ECL group in November 2005 as CourierPost General Manager and has held a number of senior roles prior to being appointed CEO, Express Couriers Limited in March 2009.

Mark has an executive management background across a number of different industries, including freight, distribution, retail and automotive. Prior to joining ECL he was General Manager at Gordon & Gotch, Books & More, KiwiMail (a New Zealand Post subsidiary), New Zealand Post Direct, National Sales & Marketing Manager CourierPost and National Manager for Smith & Smith Auto Glass.


Paul Reid

Group GM Innovation and Strategy

Paul Reid joined the company in March 2011 in the new role
of Group General Manager, Innovation and Technology.

He joined New Zealand Post Group from MetService Limited, where he held the position of Chief Executive Officer for four years.

Before joining MetService in 2007, Paul held a variety of senior commercial and operational positions with Air New Zealand, Carter Holt Harvey and Ernst & Young.


Malcolm Shaw, LLB (Hons)

Group Manager, Assurance

Malcolm Shaw joined the New Zealand Post Group in 2000, and in his role as Group Manager, Assurance, is also General Counsel and Company Secretary.

He has an extensive legal background, as Legal Counsel for Contact Energy, Assistant General Counsel for the New Zealand Dairy Board and as a lawyer for a number of firms both here and overseas.

Malcolm is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and is a member of the Institute of Directors.


Ashley Smout

Group General Manager, Operations

Ashley Smout was appointed to the new position of Group General Manager, Operations in November 2010. He takes up the position in February 2011.

Ashley joins the New Zealand Post Group from Airways Corporation of New Zealand, where he was Chief Executive Officer for the past eight years. Before joining Airways Corporation in 1999, Ashley spent 10 years in general management roles with Schneider Electric, including positions in Australia and Singapore. He earlier held marketing and senior operational management roles in New Zealand's industrial manufacturing sector.


Gary Woodham

Group General Manager, Customer Solutions & Services

Gary Woodham was appointed to the new position of Group General Manager, Customer Solutions & Services in November 2010.

Gary joined the New Zealand Post Group in 2004 as Chief Executive Officer of Datam (formerly Datamail). He has extensive experience in business process outsourcing, change management, and customer experience, including 27 years with Databank/EDS in New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.


Mark Yeoman, BCA, CA

Chief Financial Officer

Mark Yeoman joined the New Zealand Post Group in 2009. He was previously CFO at Airways and before that CEO of Samoa's telecom and postal company where he managed its transformation from a government department to a State-Owned Enterprise.

Before that, Mark held a number of executive roles in a wide-range of technology based industries in Australia and New Zealand after beginning his career with Deloitte.

Mark is a Chartered Accountant and is also a member of the Institute of Directors.
