Find out what to bring with you when you license your vehicle (pay your car registration), change ownership or pay for road user charges at your local PostShop.
Great for:
- Paying all your vehicle fees with your other bills.
- When you want to license (car registration) your vehicle or pay road user charges on the spot.
- Proof of ownership changes.
What to bring with you to your local PostShop:
Licensing your vehicle (car registration):
- Complete the renewal notice you received in the mail or,
- Complete a licensing form (MR1B) at your local PostShop
- Your vehicle plate number, year, make and model
Changing vehicle ownership (buyer):
- Complete a change of ownership form (MR13B) at your local PostShop or Certificate of registrationfor the car (from the seller)
- The application fee
- New Zealanddriver licence or proof of ID with your full name, signature and date of birth
- If you’re an organisation, your NZTA customer number
Buying road user charges:
- Complete a RUC form (RUCLA) available at your local PostShop
- Your vehicle plate number, year, make, model and current odometer/hubodometer reading
Please note we are not able to accept payment for vehicle services by credit card.
