Next steps

If you need a short term mailing address of up to three months, use our Counter delivery service located at your local PostShop and some PostCentre outlets.

Visit your local PostShop to organise for your mail sent via our delivery network to be held by Counter delivery.

When collecting your Counter delivery items, please present suitable identification.

We may refuse or terminate your Counter delivery if other services such as Postie delivery, Rural delivery or New Zealand Post PO Box and Private Bag delivery are available to you. We may also terminate the Counter delivery service by giving you 30 days’ notice.

Counter delivery items will be held for 30 days before being returned to the sender unless:

  • the sender has requested a shorter period of time
  • the item is a ParcelPost, RegisteredPost or CourierPost item. These are returned to sender after 14 days
  • you have been receiving the Counter delivery service for more than three months or New Zealand Post has given you notice that the service is being terminated and that notice period has expired - these items will be returned to the sender immediately.
