Community Post giving a boost to local organisations throughout New Zealand

Around 4,000 community groups throughout New Zealand will benefit this year from free postage-included envelopes which are being given to them by New Zealand Post as part of its Community Post scheme.

Applications from eligible groups throughout New Zealand were considered by one of 16 regional boards, which between them have agreed to gift more than 1.1 million of the postage-included envelopes to non-profit community organisations and programmes.

“We left the final decision up to those Regional Boards, but we asked them to give priority to projects which align with New Zealand Post’s other sponsorship priorities,” says Nicola Airey, head of sponsorship for New Zealand Post. “Specifically, we support projects which encourage literacy and education, those which promote health and wellbeing, or those which involve businesses working together to benefit communities."

“We’re pleased to be able to support community organisations through Community Post – providing them with the means to contact the people they work with in the community to make things better for local people. We really wish these groups all the best in their lofty and worthwhile goals,” Nicola Airey said.
