Mail deliveries continue to be disrupted in parts of the South Island today

Postal deliveries continue to be disrupted across parts of the South Island today, due to weather conditions.

The delivery of mail has been suspended in Christchurch for today and delays are expected to deliveries in Ashburton, Nelson and Blenheim.

“We experienced delays overnight due to our road and air networks not being fully operational,” New Zealand Post spokesperson Jaimee Burke said today.

“Our Posties are on call and will work quickly to ensure that any mail affected by this delay is promptly delivered when conditions improve.

“We regret any inconvenience to customers. However, the safety of our Posties continues to be our priority.

“We’ll continue to keep a close eye on weather conditions throughout the day,” Jaimee Burke said.
