NZ Post offers free redirection service to Edgecumbe residents
New Zealand Post is offering Edgecumbe residents a free two-month redirection service following the flooding.
Edgecumbe residents will be able to have their mail redirected to another postal address free of charge for two months from when they apply. They can arrange the redirection at the nearest PostShops in the area including Whakatane NZ Post & Kiwibank and Kawerau NZ Post & Kiwibank or online at www.nzpost.co.nz/personal/receiving-mail/redirect-mail
“We want to help those worst affected by the flooding,” says Waikato and Bay of Plenty Regional Service Delivery Manager, Dean Horsup. “The redirection service will be useful to Edgecumbe residents and businesses who have had to move out of their house or business, as they’ll be able to have their mail forwarded to a different address.”
Dean Horsup says whilst mail deliveries in the town are disrupted and the Edgecumbe Private Box Lobby remains closed, we will be temporarily relocating all postie mail, private box mail and courier parcels to the Whakatane Mail Centre.
Residents can collect their mail and parcels at the Whakatane Mail Centre. This is located at 143a Commerce Street, Whakatane and is open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 10.30 am.
In some areas of the town, mail and parcel deliveries are being re-established where people have been allowed to move back in.
