Online systems get business spinning
Want to avoid the queues and save time? Now You can thanks to NZ Post’s Print postage online service – helping small businesses who send a lot of parcels to spend less time at the PostShop.
Every second counts when you’re a small business. No-one knows that better than Wheelworks founder Tristan Thomas. The Lyall Bay, Wellington-based manufacturer started business in 2006, building and customising wheels for road and mountain bikes.
Word has spread about the quality of Wheelworks’ wheels, and the company now sells nearly half its products offshore.
Introducing Print postage online
That’s where NZ Post comes in. Print postage online is helping Wheelworks spin its custom-made cycle wheels out of the door to customers in New Zealand and world-wide.
Wheelworks founder Tristan Thomas says NZ Post’s Print postage online service is “incredibly easy” to use, allowing him to produce and print address labels himself from any convenient location.
How it works
Print postage online is a tool on the NZ Post website that allows customers to organise, pay for and print their postage online using their computer at home or work. Then they simply attach the label to their parcel and drop into a drop-box or over the counter at a local PostShop, or arrange for a courier pick-up (when courier products have been used).
“We can see the status of every package that we ship on the NZ Post tracking tool – each package is tracked the whole way, so you can follow it,” he says.
“It’s Cloud-based, so you can view the postage and create a label anywhere in the world, if you have access to a printer.”
After packaging up his wheels in light-weight boxes and labelling them with Print postage online, Tristan calls up CourierPost for same-day pickup and despatch.
“It’s extremely efficient, fast and works well,” he says.
“We couldn’t sell into Australia if we didn’t have an affordable, quick way of shipping, which this service provides us. It’s massive!”
Want to prepare and pay for your parcels so they’re ready to post, without leaving the office? Now You can.
