Parcel Collect Beta

With Parcel Collect, retailers can give their customers the choice of having online purchases delivered to New Zealand Post’s network of PostShops and PostCentres, making sure your customer gets their purchase the first time.

Parcel Collect gives customers all the benefits of shopping online without the frustration of missed deliveries and having to either visit a Courier Depot or arrange alternative delivery.

The alternative delivery locations are offered directly within your shopping cart for your customers convenience.

How does the service work?

When your customer enters a delivery address when they are in the check out of your site, we suggest nearby alternatives. The customer can either ignore the suggestion or choose to view alternatives. If a collection location is used, an email is sent to the customer (either from you or we can send the email for you) when the parcel is ready for collection. Your customer can then collect the parcel when it is convenient for them.

Parcel Collect APIs

To access the service the following APIs are used:

  • Address API - a source of delivery addresses
  • Locator API - nearby collection locations are checked against the delivery address
  • Merchant API - sends notifications via email or webhook, including a Ready to Collect notification and reminders for unclaimed parcels

There is no additional charge for integrating Parcel Collect locations. Find out more about using the Merchant API.

Get an API key

The API key works like a password to your account and gives you access to our services.

To get your unique key simply fill in the Parcel Collect beta keys form.

We aim to turn around all applications within two working days.

How do I integrate the service into my checkout?

You can access the locations via a JavaScript plugin which provides a user interface you can drop into your cart, or you can create your own user interface using our APIs.

Your sites as collection locations

You have the option to use your own sites as Parcel Collect locations. Your sites will be displayed as one of the alternative options presented to customers. We work with you to make sure your staff are trained to offer the service, and get you set up with a CourierPost handheld scanner.
