Parcel sending reminders this Christmas season
We asked our Investigations team how to avoid your parcels ending up in their hands this Christmas season. With more than 20 years of experience at NZ Post this is what they told us:
1. If sending to a business, always include a Business Name and Unit Number in the address – this is the #1 reason for delayed parcels when deemed undeliverable
2. Whenever possible include a phone number for the recipient – if something does go wrong this will speed up resolving any issues
3. Don’t put tape over labels – the tape can affect the ink and make addresses or tracking numbers unreadable
4. Do remove or cover old address labels so there isn’t confusion about where your parcel should go
5. Don’t strap multiple items together as if they get separated, we’ll have no way of knowing where they were headed (if strapping is necessary, be sure to address each individual item just in case)
