SendRight allows you to check the accuracy of your address database or mailing list against New Zealand Post’s Postal Address File (PAF) to qualify for discounts on your business Bulk Mail.
Eighty-five percent of the addresses in your customer database must be valid matches against the PAF - this is called a Statement of Accuracy (SOA). The cost to send Bulk Mail will increase if you don’t have an 85% SOA.
An SOA is valid for 12 months and must be obtained using SendRight certified software.
SendRight certification allows address validation software developed by commercial or in-house software developers to be tested against published accuracy and quality standards. Software that is SendRight certified means it is officially approved to issue SOAs to mailers.
Software is tested annually through a self-test and approval test cycle which is managed by the SendRight team at New Zealand Post.
Data services providers and in-house software developers can apply to have their software SendRight certified by New Zealand Post. Once SendRight certified, suppliers can use the SendRight certified mark on their brochures and website.

Once we’ve received the appropriate forms above, we’ll deliver the SendRight certified information pack to you. Once you are ready for approval testing on the software you’ve developed, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can supply the Approval Test File via email – ensure you send your results file to the SendRight team within five working days.
SendRight then scores your results file and emails the results to you. If your results file passes, the SendRight team will issue your SendRight Certificate and SendRight Certified logo. If your results file fails, you will need to email us again with your updated software for approval testing again.
