Delivery of YouShop parcels
Once your parcel is dispatched from one of our warehouses it will take on average 4-6 days for our standard product and 6-9 days for our economy product to arrive in New Zealand from the USA.
When it has landed in New Zealand and arrived at our International Mail Centre you will receive a notification. We will then hand your parcel to New Zealand Customs for processing.
If your parcel has no customs taxes or duties owing, and is not otherwise detained by Customs, it will be handed to CourierPost and you should expect it to be delivered within 1-3 working days (Monday – Friday). Delivery to rural addresses may take longer.
Once the parcel leaves our warehouse you can see delivery progress on our Tracking tool using the NZ tracking number we’ve emailed to you or via your YouShop account.
We show an estimated delivery window so you'll know when it should arrive (not including the time taken to clear Customs).
Delivery details for a parcel can be changed up until 6pm on the day that your parcel clears New Zealand Customs. At this point you will receive an email with a link to redirect your parcel to an alternative location of your choosing.
GST, duty and Customs clearance charges
Depending on the value and type of items you purchase, GST and/or duties may be payable when your parcel reaches New Zealand. Information about these charges is on the New Zealand Customs website. Use the calculator on the What's My Duty? website to work out your potential charges.
NZ Customs has a video explaining why parcels are ‘held for clearance’ and what you need to do to clear your parcel. Watch where's my parcel?
Paying clearance charges
If you have received an entry or invoice number from Customs, you can pay them directly online using your credit card.
If your parcel is assessed for GST and/or duty, you will need to pay additional costs for your item to be cleared by Customs. New Zealand Post can organise the clearance of your parcel by Customs and the charge for this is NZD$135.82 (including GST) per parcel. This charge includes the Customs Brokerage charge as well as the NZ Customs Import Transaction Fee. The GST and/or duty amounts payable are in addition to the clearance charges.
If you choose to use another clearance agent, these charges from New Zealand Post will not apply, but you will need to pay your nominated customs broker's fees.
You can pay Customs directly online, by calling 0800 SEND IT (0800 736 348), or through your nominated clearance agent. Payments are accepted by Customs using Visa or MasterCard only.
Instead of sending a parcel to your work or home address, you can now opt to send it to a nearby parcel collection point in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch for collection.
It’s easy, all you need to do is select a Parcel Collect point as your New Zealand delivery address.
