Courier parcels and mail

Last updated: 8:30am, 9 June.

Ferry services between the North and South Islands have been cancelled due to forecast heavy swells and severe weather. Services are currently expected to resume on Wednesday morning, 10 June. We have plans in place to resume moving Economy parcels between the islands once the ferries resume operation. While we are working hard to minimise disruption, delays of 1-2 working days may occur for inter-island Economy parcels for delivery in the North and South Islands.

A local State of Emergency has been declared in parts of Wellington, and severe weather conditions, including heavy swell warnings, are affecting some coastal areas.

To help keep our people safe, we have temporarily suspended courier and mail deliveries in some coastal streets within the following wards:

Wellington: Limited to specific coastal streets within the Paekawakawa/Southern and Motukairangi/Eastern wards.

We are currently anticipating delivery delays of up to 1 working day in these areas. Delivery disruptions are limited to certain coastal streets and do not affect entire suburbs or the wider Wellington region. We’ll continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as conditions evolve.

This information will be updated as circumstances change, which will not necessarily be daily.
