How it works

1. Pick a location

Collect my parcel locations include participating NZ Post stores, Countdown stores and Z Energy stations.

2. Enter location at checkout

Check that the online retailer you're buying from ships with NZ Post, and enter your Collect my parcel address at the checkout.

3. Collect it

We’ll email you when your parcel’s ready to collect. You’ll have 10 days to collect it – just show your email and ID.

Tracked parcels

We can deliver NZ Post tracked parcels.

Parcels up to 15kg

Collect my parcel locations can take deliveries of parcels up to 15kg.

Small/medium parcels

Up to 50 x 40 x 30cm - about the size of a banana box.

Frequently asked questions

There are hundreds of Collect my parcel locations around New Zealand. Locations include participating NZ Post stores, Countdown stores, and Z Energy stations. To find one near you, Find NZ Post and filter by ‘Collect my parcel'.

When shopping online, check the retailer ships with NZ Post then enter your Collect my parcel location as your delivery address at the checkout. An example of the correct format for this is:

Make sure you put your Collect my parcel number in the first line of your delivery address, so we can send you an email notifying you when your parcel is ready to be collected. It is also important to write ‘COLLECTION’ before the Collect my parcel location name so the Courier knows your parcel is for a Collect my parcel customer. When sending items to your chosen Parcel Collect location, ensure that it is either an NZ Post tracked item. Standard shipping costs apply.

You will be sent an email when your parcel is ready to be picked up from your selected Collect my parcel location and you’ll have 10 days to pick it up. If you, or someone else, is picking up the parcel please bring a copy of the notification email (printed or on your phone) along with photo identification: Acceptable forms of ID are: New Zealand passport New Zealand driver's license Overseas passport Kiwi Access card (formerly HANZ 18+ card) New Zealand Certificate of Identity (issued under the Passports Act).

When your parcel is ready to pick up from a Collect my parcel location, we will send a notification to the email we have stored on your NZ Post account. What you can do:

  • Check your SPAM folder.
  • Check the email address you have registered for your account.
  • Track your parcel using our tracking tool.
  • If it is ready to collect from your Collect my parcel location, the parcel status will say ‘Ready to collect’.

You will be emailed when your parcel is ready to collect. Parcels must be collected within 10 days of that email, otherwise the parcel will be returned to the sender.

We’ll send you a reminder email when you have 2 days left to pick up your parcel.

You can have more than one Collect my parcel location. To add another address, sign into your NZ Post account and click ‘create another Collect my parcel address’. When shopping online, enter your preferred Collect my parcel location at the checkout.

Collect my parcel locations can only be used for parcels being delivered by NZ Post.

If the courier company can’t deliver your parcel, they will get in touch with you to arrange a different delivery address.

If you haven’t supplied your Collect my parcel number, or have entered it incorrectly, you won’t get your notification email from us to let you know when your parcel is ready for collection. You can still check where your parcel is using our tracking tool, and it will still go to your chosen location.

If you forget to put COLLECT, it will still get to your chosen location, but it may take longer to arrive.

Be sure to use the address correctly.

If your item is coming from overseas, and Customs Duty or GST needs to be paid before it is forwarded to the Collect my parcel location, we will contact you using the address information we hold about you.

You will be sent an email when your parcel is ready to be picked up from your selected collection location and you’ll have 10 days to pick it up. This email will confirm the address and the opening hours of the Collect my parcel location. You can keep track of your parcel delivery status using our tracking tool.

To operate Collect my parcel, we share personal information with participating Collect my parcel providers, including participating Countdown stores, Wellington Z service stations and NZ Post stores.

We ensure that any time we share personal information with participating Collect my parcel providers we do so securely and we take steps to ensure that all our service providers with whom we share personal information agree to protect the privacy and security of your personal information, destroy that data when it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was supplied to them and use that data only for the purposes for which it is disclosed. From time to time we may share your personal information in other circumstances where we are specifically allowed to under the Privacy Act 1993 (for example, in cases where the Police ask us for information to assist with its investigation of an alleged criminal offence).
