The maximum weight of any item accepted by us for sending via International Courier is 30kg.
Maximum dimensions also apply. Individual countries may have lower maximum weights or dimensions. We may reweigh your item at any time to confirm the chargeable weight. In relation to items sent via International Express Courier, at our sole discretion, we may charge according to the actual or volumetric weight of an item.
A more detailed guide to the maximum weights and dimensions of items is contained in the Postal Users' Guide.

You are responsible for complying with Customs requirements, completing all Customs documentation and checking whether Customs duties or other charges are payable on your item.
The Receiver is responsible for payment of any Customs duties, sales taxes and other regulatory charges made by Customs authorities in the destination country in relation to the item. ParcelRewards discounts apply to all purchases:
- of domestic and international parcel products and associated packaging (this excludes stamps and any letter products);
- using a website user account; and
- paying by accepted credit/debit cards.
Purchases of parcel products in New Zealand Post retail outlets, ordered through the New Zealand Post Customer Service Centre, or by account customers ordering online and charging the items to their credit account do not count towards ‘total parcel product spend’ for ParcelRewards and do not receive ParcelRewards discounts.
Your ParcelRewards tier status and discount rate are based on your total eligible spend (ie using your website user account and paid for using an accepted credit/debit card, on all eligible parcel products (domestic and international services and packaging)) over the previous 12 month period.
Your total eligible spend will be reviewed at the end of every month. The relevant discount tier will then apply for the next month, except that your discount rate can go up, but can’t go down, for 12 months. That is, each month, your spend will be reviewed – if you qualify to move to a higher tier, your discount will increase accordingly (and the 12 month ‘count’ will re-start). If your spend is the same or less, the current discount will be retained. After 12 months on the same tier, your discount may be decreased if your rolling 12 month spend no longer qualifies you for that tier.
The tiers, spend thresholds and applicable discount rates are set out below:
- Spend over previous 12 months, on domestic and international parcel products and associated packaging, purchased online using your website user account, paying by accepted credit/debit cards (NOT purchases from retail outlets, via Customer Service Centre phone sales, or charged to credit account; NOT purchases of stamps or letter products).
- The discount rate is applied to our prices for parcel products on www.nzpost.co.nz.
