Shop a little differently this Christmas

As we head into the busy Christmas shopping season we ask that you prepare your customers to shop online a little differently this year. Let your customers know what they can do to give their Christmas shopping the best chance of arriving on time for the big day.

  • Think ahead, start planning what you want and need to buy during the shopping season now.
  • Make a list of what you need so you can place fewer, larger orders and reduce your shipping costs.
  • Use ‘click and collect’ options with your favourite retailers wherever possible.
  • Consider bulk buying items that you usually purchase online monthly or weekly into one larger order that can be sent in one go.

Cut-off dates are targets only. Sending by the Christmas cut-off dates gives you the best chance to get your item where it needs to be for Christmas and are correct as of 6 December 2021, but may change due to unforeseen service impacts. The spread of COVID-19 globally has led to reduced airfreight capacity and more recently, stricter lockdown restrictions within certain countries, causing delays to parcels coming in and out of New Zealand. We expect delays to continue for some time.

Please be aware that items that are sent via Express International services are subject to additional security checks as part of the export process from New Zealand. These additional checks may include physical examination of the contents of your item and are undertaken by our delivery partner for this service, DHL Express. Where items are gift wrapped, they may be unwrapped or opened to complete these inspections. Where this does occur, best efforts will be undertaken to ensure that gift wrapped items are rewrapped, however this may not always be possible.
