NZ Post update on services – Gisborne

NZ Post is working hard to deliver to Kiwis in areas impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle but we do have a small backlog of items due to be delivered to Gisborne and we are advising delays of up to 3 days in the Gisborne area for mail, courier delivery and rural delivery.

We are also advising customers not to send perishable items to or from Gisborne this week while we fully re-establish our services in this area.

Following Cyclone Gabrielle, we are experiencing delays in transporting items to and from Gisborne, particularly between locations that remain affected by limited road access. We are currently operating an altered schedule based on road opening times.

We recognise the importance of keeping Kiwis in Gisborne connected, and our teams are doing their absolute best to get things back to our normal delivery standard.

We are regularly updating our website as the situation continues to evolve, and customers should refer to our service updates for the latest information.

NZ Post will continue to review and monitor our operations within cyclone hit areas – keeping the safety and wellbeing of our people and contractors at the heart of any decisions made.
