Build positive feedback on auction sites, such as Trade Me or Sella, by offering great customer service. A simple way to do this is by offering buyers a choice of delivery options. Also consider sharing the tracking details for an item when applicable. Our Rate Finder and Tracking services are designed to make this easy.
Print your postage online
Use our Rate Finder to create, print and pay for postage online. Simply attach your printed ticket to your parcel and drop it into one of the parcel posting boxes at participating PostShops, avoiding queues altogether. You can also hand it over the counter at your local PostShop.
Alternatively, keep a stock of postage included bags and prepaid tickets for a quick and easy dispatch of your items. Our sending products are available online in 10s, 20s or 25s (depending on the item) and are delivered to you at no cost when you buy online.
Provide estimated delivery costs
Listings on both Trade Me and Sella that include detailed shipping costs are more likely to sell. So when you're listing an item, use our Rate Finder to find out how much it will cost and how long it will take to deliver it to various destinations. This avoids the inevitable questions later and will help you get more bids.
Though you may not know where you'll end up sending your item, the Rate Finder can still provide you with accurate pricing which covers a range of destinations. Simply leave the "Sending to" field blank, and you will be provided with a list of prices for sending across town, sending within the same island, and sending nationwide.
Give customers sending options
Different buyers have different needs and preferences, so let them choose from a range of sending options. Whether your buyer wants it delivered fast, with tracking, or at the lowest possible cost – we have an option for you that you can quote on your auction.
It also pays to note that all tracked options deliver to rural addresses have a rural surcharge, and there is no thickness restriction on our range of Postage Included Bags.
Standard parcel: lower cost delivery for items up to 3kg. Delivery target up to 3 working days.
Tracked parcel: an economical alternative to couriers with online and mobile phone tracking. Delivery target is up to 3 working days.
Courier parcel: a next working day delivery target to major towns and cities, with online and mobile phone tracking. A Signature option and Saturday delivery are also available.
Keeping track of things
Use our Tracking tool and subscribe to alerts to receive email updates on the status of your parcel every time it is scanned within our system.
If you regularly have large numbers of items in transit you might want to take a look at our Google spreadsheet template. It enables you to easily keep an eye on a long list of tracking numbers. If you're a Twitterer, our Tracking Twitterbot can alert you whenever your tracked items change status.
