Statement of Accuracy

Across this range, we incentivising customers based on their addressing Statement of Accuracy (SOA) and volumes lodged. This was done by setting up SOA tiers of 95%+, 90 – 94.99%, 80 – 89.99% and less than 80%/No SOA.  Each SOA tier is presented against a volume tier (exception less than 80%/No SOA) to get to a relevant price point.  There will be little change in how your mail is lodged today.

CourierPost, Pace, Contract Logistics

What is an Annual Price Adjustment (APA)?
The Annual Price Adjustment is an adjustment to the pricing of CourierPost, Pace, Contract Logistics & New Zealand Post Transport products and services.

NZ Post makes these changes following its annual price review. Changes to NZ Post products and prices were announced in March.

When did this price increase take effect?
The APA took effect for all customers on 1 July 2018.

Why did you increase the price to send a parcel in New Zealand?
Each year we review and adjust our prices to make sure they reflect the cost of running the parcel delivery network, to ensure we can continue to deliver the high levels of service our customers receive.

Why did you put up your prices?
Mail volumes are declining while our fixed costs remain the same.

At the same time, we are delivering increased volumes of parcels, to an increasing number of business, residential and rural address points, and this comes at a cost to our business.

Our focus is on lowering costs and improving efficiency, while we continue to grow parcel volumes, both domestically and internationally.

Why was the rural surcharge excluded from the APA?
To ensure the CourierPost and New Zealand Post rural prices remain aligned, there was no change to the CourierPost rural surcharge as part of the 2018 APA.
