Passports and applications/renewals are sensitive and valuable legal documents. Due to their small size, passports also carry a higher risk of being lost. When sending overseas with Express, your passport and sensitive documents are handled by a single delivery partner for the entirety of their journey, making it not only our fastest, but also the most secure sending service.
When sending a passport overseas, you’ll need to complete a customs form. If you book online for pickup, the customs form will be completed while you order the courier. If you’re sending from an NZ Post store, you’ll be asked to fill in the digital customs form. Ask our team for help if you have any questions.
It's important your customs form is completed accurately, here are some tips:
- Avoid vague descriptions like "documents" instead be descriptive e.g. "Passport Application Documents"
- Include all sender and receiver contact details, including a phone number for the receiver.
- If sending to UK government or passport-related addresses, you can include any additional identifying information (such as reference numbers or applicant details)
