Closure of YouShop China

From 31 October 2017, our YouShop China service will no longer be available to ship your parcels from China to New Zealand.

You will still be able to use YouShop for purchases from the US, Europe and UK.

So if there is anything from China you have had your eye on, now is the time to make that purchase. 

Here's what you need to do:

  • Check that your items can be delivered to the YouShop China warehouse no later than 30 October
  • Pay for your YouShop shipping to NZ no later than 31 October

Why are you closing the service?

The demand for the YouShop China service hasn't met our expectations, so we're going to focus our efforts in other areas to improve and enhance the overall YouShop service.

What are the deadline dates for and what happens if I miss them?

We need to set deadlines to ensure that all parties understand what needs to be done and by when so we can close down the service in an efficient, transparent and organised way.

Your parcels need to arrive at our warehouse by no later than 30 October, and you must pay for shipping by no later than 31 October. After 31 October the YouShop China service will no longer be available.

If you don't meet the deadlines we may still be able to ship your goods, but you won't be able to action anything via the YouShop website - please email youshop@nzpost.co.nz or call 0800 501 501 for more information.

What other services can I use to ship goods from China to NZ?

There are several alternative freight forwarding services to choose from, including Superbuy - https://www.superbuy.com/ and several others - Google can help you with this.

How do I make sure I get my parcels?

Firstly, make sure your parcels are delivered to our warehouse in good time, and then submit your payment for YouShop shipping before the 31 October deadline so we can ship them to NZ.

What are the benefits of telling YouShop about a parcel that I’m expecting?

Telling us about an expected parcel allows us to ensure that:

  • The parcel is checked in smoothly
  • The parcel is assigned to you promptly, even if it arrives without a YouShop ID
  • When the parcel is checked in, it can be given your reference name if provided

What happens if my parcels don't reach the warehouse before the deadline?

What happens if I don't pay for my parcels before the deadline?

What happens if my parcel is damaged en-route to the warehouse and it misses the deadline?

You will need to make alternative arrangements to return the goods to the merchant - please email youshop@nzpost.co.nz or call 0800 501 501 for more information

If there's a problem with my parcels after the deadline will I still be able to return them ?

You will need to make alternative arrangements to return them via a 3rd party courier. Please email youshop@nzpost.co.nz or call 0800 501 501 for more information.

Will I still be able to track my parcels after the deadline?

Yes - once your parcel leaves our warehouse you can see delivery progress on our Tracking tool using the New Zealand tracking number we’ve emailed to you, or via your YouShop account.

We also show an estimated delivery time so you'll know when it should arrive. This estimate does not include the time taken to clear Customs.

My parcel has been delivered to the warehouse but I can't see it in my account - what can I do?

There could be a delay between the receipt of the item at our warehouse and your first notification from New Zealand Post of its arrival.

By entering the merchant's tracking number in our Claim your parcel search, you can see if your parcel has arrived at the warehouse.

If your parcel isn't identified and it has been more than 3 working days since your item was delivered, please contact our National Contact Centre.

Will there be any delays in shipping parcels after the deadline?

No, everything should continue as normal - our shipments leave China once a week on a Saturday.

How long will my parcel(s) take after the deadline has passed?

The standard transit times will still apply - approx. 5-8 days, subject to Customs clearance.
