Collect my parcel Terms and Conditions

New Zealand Post Limited (“we”, “our” or “us”) offers the Collect my parcel service so your parcels can be delivered to participating collection locations instead of your home or business address (“Collect my parcel service”).

By using the Collect my parcel service, you agree to these terms:

1. Service Use

Collect my parcel allows you to have your eligible parcels delivered to a participating collection location instead of your home or business address.

2. Eligibility

  • Parcels must meet the size and weight limits:
  • Maximum weight: 15kg
  • Maximum dimensions: 50cm x 40cm x 30cm
  • Parcels must not contain alcohol, tobacco, perishables, or any restricted or prohibited items listed by NZ Post,
  • Letters and untracked parcel items are not eligible for this service.
  • The service is intended for low volume consumer use. We may refuse service if excessive or business use, or illegal or other misuse is identified.

3. Addressing Requirements

  • Items must be correctly addressed using:
  • Name
  • Collect my parcel number
  • The word “COLLECTION” before the location name

Incorrect details may delay delivery or prevent notifications.

4. Collection Process

Parcels must be collected within 10 days of notification.

To collect your parcel, you will need a valid photo ID matching the name on the parcel. Acceptable IDs include:

  • NZ Passport
  • NZ Driver Licence
  • Overseas Passport
  • Kiwi Access Card
  • NZ Certificate of Identity

Someone else may collect your parcel for you, but you will need to send them the Ready to Collect email confirmation from NZ Post and in both situations the collector's ID number will be recorded and held for 3 months.

Uncollected parcels will be returned to the sender after 10 days.

5. Redirecting Parcels

You may redirect your parcel to a Collect my parcel location only if:

  • The parcel is eligible for redirection (e.g. not in the final stage of delivery).
  • It meets eligibility criteria for the Collect my parcel service, including size and weight limits and no prohibited items.

6. Privacy

We may share your personal information with our collection partners to enable service operation. We and our collection partners are required to comply with the Privacy Act but may disclose information when legally required or for the purpose of providing the service.

7. Liability

NZ Post’s contract to deliver your parcel is with the sender, so if the item sent to a collection location goes missing or is damaged when received, you still need to follow the claims process set out in our Postal Users’ Guide i.e. contact the sender so they can follow up the matter with us (for international postal items, the sender may need to contact the relevant postal sending authority). Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the amount specified for the particular sending service as set out in our Postal Users’ Guide plus reimbursement of postage if the item has been lost. This is payable to the sender, unless they waive that right. We have no liability for delay in delivery, nor for any indirect or consequential loss, damage or cost, however it arises.

We are liable to you directly for providing the Collect my parcel service as described. The Collect my parcel service relates to provision of a participating location from which you can collect your parcel, if the conditions for use are met (e.g. pick-up with 10 days, no prohibited items).

NZ Post is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect addressing or failure to collect within the timeframe.

8. Service Limitations

NZ Post may refuse parcels that do not comply with these terms or where excessive use is identified. Service availability may vary by location, and may change at short notice. Please check our website for latest available sites.

9. Changes to Terms

NZ Post may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
