Step 3: Attach the documents to your package

You will need to attach the documents to the outside of your package.

Consignment note

You can:

  • print the electronic note onto adhesive paper and attach or
  • use tape to attach it or
  • place it in a clear plastic pouch. You can get clear pouches at an NZ Post store or at our online shop.

Please ensure the shipping label or barcode is facing out.

Export entry

Please put your export entry into a clear plastic pouch and attach it securely to the outside of your item. Please don't tape the entry to the outside as we may need to see all of it. Please also ensure the shipping label or barcode is facing out. You can get clear pouches at an NZ Post store or at our online shop.

You don't need to complete an export entry if the items you send overseas are valued under $1000 or the items you send overseas are exempt from export entry. To find out more about what items are exempt, visit NZ customs.
