International Air

International Air is our lowest cost international sending option to send your parcels overseas.

International Air has a 3 - 10 day delivery target to over 220 destinations, including PO Boxes and rural areas worldwide.

The required postage is based on the weight of the parcel and charged in 10g increments, so you only pay for what it weighs. The minimum charge for International Air parcels is 200g.

You can send parcels by International Air to PO Boxes and rural areas for no extra cost. Use the Rate Finder for more details on the options available and the associated cost to send your parcel. If your parcel does not match the dimensions specified, another service may be more applicable.

Sending by International Air

To send your parcel by International Air you need to have:

  • a green Customs declaration (OS008a), listing each item and its value and attached to your parcel (for parcels up to 2kg​ and under NZ$250 in value​).
  • a white consignment note (CN300), available in store, listing each item and its value in the space provided (for parcels over 2kg).
  • a copy of the commercial invoice attached to the outside of the parcel or an Export Invoice (NCPI025) (PDF - 49KB), if your parcel is being sent as part of a commercial transaction.
  • a completed Export Entry (for letters, documents and parcels valued over NZ$1,000). We can complete this on your behalf for an additional cost.

Delivery Targets

You can expect that items will usually arrive at their destination within the delivery target specified. Because New Zealand Post does not directly control all parts of the delivery chain, we cannot guarantee that your item will always reach its destination within the delivery target. Delivery to areas outside major cities, or where your item is dutiable or held in Customs, may take longer. Required postage

The required postage is the value of postage required for New Zealand Post to carry the item. Actual price paid may vary instore. The required postage and specifications are subject to change.

Cover for loss or damage, prohibited & restricted items

Before sending mail items, make sure your item is safe to send and will be covered if it goes missing or is damaged. Make sure you read about cover for loss or damage and prohibited & restricted items.

  • items under NZ$2,000 in value can be sent; and
  • compensation up to NZ$2,000 will be available for loss or damage in respect of those items.
